Psalm 18:1-3
1I love You, O LORD, my strength.
2The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer. My God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
3I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies.
Psalm 18:31-36
31For who is God besides the LORD? And who is the Rock except our God?
32It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way clear.
33He makes my feet like those of a deer and stations me upon the heights.
34He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
35You have given me Your shield of salvation; Your right hand upholds me, and Your gentleness exalts me.
36You broaden the path beneath me so that my ankles do not give way.
Psalm 18:39
39You have armed me with strength for battle; You have subdued my foes beneath me.

Psalm 18 is David's song from the day he was rescued from all his enemies. It turns on one question: who is God besides the Lord, and who is the Rock except our God?
Who Is The Rock builds on that question. The verses follow the psalm's picture of a God who trains the hands for battle and sets the feet on high ground, and the song keeps returning to the same answer: the strength and the victory belong to Him alone.
Who is God but the Lord
Who is the Rock but our God
You gird me with strength for the battle
You steady my feet on the stone
Through darkness You open the pathway
I do not go forward alone
You train these hands for the struggle
You teach them to stand and endure
My shelter, my shield and salvation
My Rock and my refuge secure
The earth may shake beneath me
The mountains break and fall
The Lord who goes before me
Is stronger than them all
Who is a Rock except our God
Who is a Rock except our God
You give me strength for the battle
You hold me when kingdoms fall
Who is a Rock except our God
Who is a Rock except our God
My shield, my strength, my fortress
The Lord is above them all
You make my feet sure on the high ground
You widen the path under me
You give me the shield of salvation
Your hand is the strength that I need
No weapon has made me victorious
No power was ever my own
The One who armed me with courage
Is God and is Lord alone
Let thunder roll around me
Let iron answer iron
The Lord who goes before me
Will lead me through the fire
Who is a Rock except our God
Who is a Rock except our God
You give me strength for the battle
You hold me when kingdoms fall
Who is a Rock except our God
Who is a Rock except our God
My shield, my strength, my fortress
The Lord is above them all
Not by the sword in my hand
Not by the strength in my bones
The Lord is the strength of His people
The victory belongs to Him alone
To Him alone
To Him alone
Who is the Rock
Our God
Who is our strength
Our God
Who goes before us
Our God
Who is the Rock
Our God
Who is a Rock except our God
Who is a Rock except our God
You give us strength for the battle
You hold us when kingdoms fall
Who is a Rock except our God
Who is a Rock except our God
Our shield, our strength, our fortress
The Lord is above them all
You equipped me with strength for the battle
Who is the Rock but our God
